Coinbase opened a dollar market for Pons on October 7, 2026. Coinbase Markets said spot trading for PONS would go live that day, and that the PONS-USD pair would begin later if liquidity conditions were met, in regions where trading is supported. The project then posted the sentence that turns a plan into a market: Pons is now trading on Coinbase. The post is here:

The morning is written down on Coinbase's own status page, and the clock is Pacific. At 10:10 the listing was still the announcement. At 10:21 PONS-USD entered auction mode. Customers could post limit orders and see an indicative open price. The book stayed in auction for at least ten minutes, and no matches happened during that window. At 10:33 the pair moved to limit-only mode on Coinbase Exchange and Coinbase Advanced. Limit orders could be placed and canceled, and matches could occur. Market orders could not be submitted. The project's post went up at 17:42 UTC, after that sequence, from the account that ships the token.

Where a trader can reach it is named, not implied. Coinbase said Pons would be available on coinbase.com, in the Coinbase app, and on Coinbase Advanced. Institutions can reach the same asset on Coinbase Exchange. The day before, October 6, Coinbase Markets added Pons to the asset roadmap next to Whuffie and printed the contract in the same thread. A roadmap note on Tuesday became a book on Wednesday. That is the pace of this listing.

The chain is part of the listing, because sending the token to the wrong network is how a deposit disappears. Coinbase gave the Robinhood network contract as 0x39dbed3a2bd333467115de45665cc57f813c4571, and said not to send the asset over any other network. Pons is the token tied to a launchpad on Robinhood Chain. The account's own line is that it is a place to launch coins on Robinhood. Decrypt has described Pons as the chain's busiest application, a launchpad that lets someone deploy a token straight into a trading pool, with Uniswap as the chain's default exchange. The Coinbase pair sits on top of that. It is a dollar market. It does not replace the pool on the chain.

The same account posted the boundary under the trading line, and it belongs in the story. The follow-up says the posts are not endorsements. They are for information, not financial, technical, or legal advice. That is Pons speaking about its own post. The news is still the listing. A token that was a roadmap item on October 6 spent October 7 in an auction, then in a limit-only book, then in a post that says it is trading. Coinbase set the condition in its own words: the open depended on liquidity, and on the region.

What comes next is the rest of the book. Limit-only is the mode Coinbase named at 10:33 Pacific, with matches allowed and market orders held back. The follow-up is the session when market orders are accepted, and the first day the pair is open in every region Coinbase said it would support. The post is the record of who said the token is trading, and from the account that built the launchpad. The desk will stay on PONS-USD when that book opens the rest of the way. That is the next print.

Morning note

Before the cash open.

One note. It goes to the desk, not just this browser.
